Comment: spent a weekend at this hotel and decided to extend through monday and tuesday. location is excellent and front desk staff really care. the concierge directed us to a local austin landmark which is away from the tourists and was lovely!

Comment: the room was lovely--clean, comfortable, well set up. the staff were absolutely delightful (and i'm difficult to please!). great location for walking all over downtown. on free bus route.

Comment: i had been to the sfa intercontinental a few times for weddings, etc. and was surprised when the service and room size were not as nice as the rest of the hotel. the room we stayed in was small with a strange layout. the water pressure was poor and it took a while to get hot water to the room -- we actually called to see if it was out. it all worked out and wasn't that big of a deal -- i just would have expected more for the money.

Comment: my husband and i were awoken at 7:00am with loud construction from outside. i talked to the service desk about this and they curtly told me that i should write to the city of austin - it's not their fault. they told me this had been happening for a long time. not only that, they wouldn't offer any sort of compensation - not a free breakfast, no comped valet, nothing. when i walked away, the supervisor was laughing. when i pay almost $300 for a room for a night, i expect a little more courtesy than that.
