Ft Sumner tourist information
Centrally located between the New Mexico cities of Albuquerque and Santa Fe and the West Texas towns of Amarillo and Lubbock, Fort Sumner enjoys the pleasures of the city just hours away, while maintaining a small town style of life. It is located on the Pecos River and is the county seat for De Baca County. It is a ranching and farming community and a monument to the old military fort and the legend of Billy the Kid.
