Comment: I had read the reviews and I was not expecting much but I was pleasantly surprised by the look and cleanliness of the room and the friendliness of the staff. The room was clean and the bed was really comfortable. The TV worked well and had a nice selection of channels. I was very comfortable. The dining room was nice and the food was good. The location of the hotel was awesome since it was right near Old Town. My only problem was the hot water was cool and the heater/thermostat didn't work so I felt a little cold at times. I would definitely stay there again.

Comment: Silver Moon Lodge - Albuquerque, NM This was the only (nearby) available motel when I attended a convention in Albuquerue Convention Center.This places advertised itself as a refurbished Route 66 "recreation of best of the overnight hotels from the 1950’s. Each room has been fully remodeled and updated, giving our guest modern comforts while maintaining the feeling of Route 66’s heyday." (Quotes are from their description on Expedia.) This room was so dirty it gave me the creeps. The remodeling seems to have consisted of new bed, sink, & toilet. The bathtub had been painted and was peeling. It looked dirty and yellowed. The floor was old linoleum tiles (I wore shoes in there!). The bathroom door and doorjam were filthy. I had a feeling that the dirt was a remnant of the "heyday". They seemed to have a "one towel per customer" policy too. When we got into bed there were small brown flaky things in the sheets and the hem on the top sheet had been partially resewn. But it got worse. The neighbors in the room next door were smoking and the smoke was coming through the electrical socket at the head of our bed. It was so strong we got headaches. The next morning I woke up at 5 a.m. because it was coming in again. I'd expect this from a $30 room, but not a $60 room. When we checked out, my husband told them we'd been unhappy with the lack of cleanliness. His complaint was met with a "too bad" attitude. If I'm in Albuquerque again, I'll stay ANYWHERE BUT THERE!
