Comment: Although I've usually hit "The Gate" just for drinks, light gaming, and their GREAT food, staying here DERBY weekend was terrific. Downtown VEGAS is where the fun is and "The Gate" is where it all began and now begins.

Comment: For the price you can't complain. We needed a hotel for the first night we were in Vegas. My only complaint is that is if you are a light sleeper don't get a room that is along Fremont Street because you won't get much sleep with the music playing all night.

Comment: Although to this point we had never stayed downtown, I have decided to never stay downtown. We had a machine that needed to be plugged in at night to sleep with and we could not do so. There was not enough electrical outlets. The room was not very clean and the beds were rock hard. The shower ran out of hot water in the middle of our showers. Cheap stay, but not worth staying again.

Comment: Hotel hasn't had any updating since the 1930?s. Far below the standards of any other Vegas off Strip hotel I've ever stayed. Free parking is 1.5 blocks from Hotel. Valet Parking is close, but time consuming to use. $10-$20 a night will buy a world of difference in a Hotel. Desperately tried to change Hotels once I saw Golden Gate. Most rooms in all of Vegas were booked for a Saturday night.

Comment: This is the worst hotel I have ever seen. Dirty, nasty. Didn't have hot water for the 2 days I was there. The carpet is dirty. Full of white trash people. NO CLASS. I wouldn't even stay there if they paid me $500 a night!!!!!
