New Orleans destination reviews

Roger Balmer has been in New Orleans

Before my first visit to New Orleans, i read a lot about mardi gras the french quarter and so on. When I was there for Mardi Gras the first time, I didn't expact to find such a pulsing city in the USA. In my eyes, New Orleans is one of the most european style cities of the USA.

There are a lot of things that you can see, when visiting New Orleans. You might start your journey at the Riverwalk, the bottom of Canal Street. There is a nice shopping center with some good italian and international restaurants inside. If you stroll up Canal Street, you find a lot of shops for souvenirs.

If you love to shop fresh products, don't miss the French Market. You'll find a lot of herbs, vegetables, meat, fish and other fresh products at this market in New Orleans.

New Orleans and missing the French Quarter??? No way. If you go to New Orleans, don't miss out the French Quarter. One of the best places to stay in New Orleans French Quarter for sure is the Royal Sonesta New Orleans Hotel, with its Jazz Lounge and famous Oyster Bar.

During Mardi Gras, it might be hard to get rooms in the french quarter. Make sure to book months in advance, if you don't wanna miss the crazy crowed hanging on the French Quarter Hotel Balconies.

New Orleans has a lot of good Cajun restaurants. It's not hard to find a good place to eat. Bars and Clubs are in hands with shops and restaurants within the pulsing french quarter of New Orleans.

For Jazz lovers, New Orleans offers a few Jazz Clubs. Don't miss out visiting at least one of them.

New Orleans visitors that love to gamble, might find their luck in the Harrah's Casino, close to the Doubletree Hotel, which is another nice place to stay, when sleeping in New Orleans.

Other nearby attractions, that I think you shouldn't miss are Lake Pontchartrain with one of the longest bridges of the USA. At the other end of the bridge is nothing that much special. What you shouldn't miss, when planing daytrips from New Orleans are Cajun River Tours. You get close to wildlife Aligators. It's just pure fun.

Besides that you can drink beer on the streets I'm sure I'll always come back to this pulsing city, back to New Orleans. See you soon again.
