St Pete Beach destination reviews

My family and I just returned from a one-week Christmas vacation. We were at the Plaza Beach Resort on St Pete Beach in Florida from Dec.26.2004 until Jan.02.2005, and had an excellent time and perfect weather. When we arrived, Robert greeted us at the front desk and checked us in and gave us lots of information about the area. Everything was so convenient and in walking distance from the property, the grocery store and shopping center is just across the street and with two small children that was a big plus for us. Our room was a Deluxe Efficiency and it was a oversized room with two double beds, one sleeper sofa, and a full kitchen, perfect for four people, but can probably sleep six if needed. The rooms were very clean and had all the utensils needed to prepare food. There was a large pool on property, which overlooked the beach as well as mini-golf, and a chess game. My wife and I found this hotel to be perfect for families or couples and we recommend it. We will be back ourselves. P.S. For a great dinner go to Silas Dents Steakhouse

St Pete Beach is truly the best kept secret in Florida. The sand is powder white, the water is clear, and the locals are the best. I have been gong to St Pete's Beach since 1982, I traveled the world, and still have not found a more relaxed place. Some of my recommendations for hotels are the Don Cesar and the Plaza Beach Resort. The Don Cesar is absolutely beautiful in every aspect from the rooms to the restaurants onsite however a little pricey. The Plaza Beach Resort is a great value with its apartment style rooms directly on the beach. All their rooms have full kitchen, and the grocery store is just across the street, the Plaza Beach Resort offers a large pool, Internet access, Big screen TV?s, basically all the amenities of any larger resort in a smaller, more cost efficient style. Restaurants I recommend would be GiGi's Italian restaurant and the Hurricane. Both restaurants are well priced and offer specialty dishes. At GiGi Italian restaurant the eggplant parmesan is to unbelievable, and at the Hurricane you have to have their famous Grouper Sandwiches.
