Comment: I used Priceline to book this hotel. $70/night. We were looking for a hotel to spend a night after arriving in Ft Lauderdale before proceeding up the Florida coast. I was somewhat sceptical with the rating of "3 stars" since I had used Priceline in Orlando and did not think the hotel we stayed at there deserved the rating of 3.5 it had. However, we were looking for a place to stay in this area and didn't know one hotel from the other so I was willing to take the risk. I was extremely happy with the location, which was very close to the highway, Rte 95. Near the hotel there ample places in the surrounding area to get something to eat I saw McDonalds and Wendy's for the kids. And there were several non chain type resturaunts for adults. The hotel was very neat and clean in appearance. The lobby was nice, small, not overly done but it did have a water fountain in the center of it. We were there on a Friday night. The lobby was busy but there were not long lines and the people at the front desk moved us through quickly. One thing to note is that 2 people did come to the desk with issues regarding problems with the key card unlocking their doors (more on that later). There did appear to be people arriving to attend functions for the next day (there 2 or 3 function rooms). I could hear music from a lounge while in the lobby and there was a small dining area off the lobby. The room and hallways on our floor were very well done. I was very pleasantly surprised at how neat and well maintained the area was. The 2 double beds in our room were comfortable and the cushioned fabric headboards were a nice touch. There was a desk area and the bathroom was clean and well maintained. I had a problem with the key card lock mechanism getting into the room. It took several tries (about 3 minutes) to master the lock mechanism. If I remember correctly, you had to leave the card in place, wait for the light to flash and then slowly remove the card. There was definitely a sequence that the front desk could have explained better. The floor and room were very quiet throughout the night. In the morning, we went to the pool around 9 AM. I called the hotel lobby and asked what time the pool opened and they said 8 AM. When we arrived at the pool, I was a little surprised to see the staff (one person was gathering up towels and arranging furniture)did not have the pool area ready before the pool opened. Could all those towels have been from this morning? I think they were still from the previous day. I really thought this should have been done long before guests arrived. The pool area began to fill up as several other families arrived. There was a workout facility off the pool area. Unfortunately for this review I did not explore it. Overall, based upon my previous experience with Priceline I was very pleasantly surprised. The pool area and door lock were the only detractors. I would not hestitate to stay here again with my family.
