Entebbe tourist information
With a population of 90,500, the majority of Entebbe's residents are civil servants for government ministries. Others make their livelihood through agriculture, fishing, producing consumer goods, or through small-scale industry. The primary languages are English and Lugandan. Entebbe is 21 miles from Kampala, the capitol of Uganda, and on the shore of Lake Victoria, the second largest fresh water lake in Africa. Entebbe has the status of a game sanctuary, and main attractions include the Ugandan Wildlife Education Center, the Botanical Gardens, and beaches along Lake Victoria. Residents of Entebbe are very concerned that development happen in a sustainable way. Stephen Kabuye, Mayor of Entebbe, says of Entebbe that: "It is still one of the cleanest and [most] environmentally friendly places to be Uganda, because of firm decisions and laws which have over the years protected its flora and fauna
