Tulleboelle Tourist Information

In the village of Tullebølle, north of Rudkøbing, you should first and foremost visit the church which was built at the end of the 12th century. In the 1870s a mural dating back to the 1550s was uncovered, but was rapidly plastered over again. The reason: It showed "a gruesome picture of hell" but in 1969 it was again uncovered and can now be studied daily between 8am and 4pm. Other sights include the large dolmen in Bjerreby south of the village. Tullebølle is a long narrow village with houses that were mainly built in about 1900, but new housing estates have grown up so that the village today has about 800 inhabitants. Several shops and at the cosy inn you can enjoy a well-cooked meal.
