Puumala Tourist Information
The archipelago municipality of Puumala is located by the Saimaa waterway halfway between Savonlinnna and Lappeenranta.
The landscape route of Lietvesi with its lookout spot is one of the most photographed lake sceneries in Finland. Another breathtaking view not to be missed is from the Saimaan silta bridge. Boaters and paddlers find all necessary services in the harbour next to the marketplace.
Treat yourself to a wonderful meal either at the manor restaurant of Sahanlahti or at the Restaurant Niinipuu at the Okkolan Lomamökit Summer Cottages.
The 300 shoreline kilometres and 1,000 islands attract holidaymakers. The municipality’s population triples in the summer, when summer residents arrive. There are still three ferry boats in operation in the archipelago of Puumala two of which run 24 hours a day.
