Puerto Octay Tourist Information

When you drive from Osorno to Frutillar along the Carretera Panamericana, some 40 km. east, you will find the big framework of the bay of Lago Llanquihue under the protection of peninsula Centinela. Right there is Puerto Octay, an important German colony. It is an important lake port for passengers and cargo between Puerto Montt and the rest of Chile. Beaches like La Baja, Maitén, and Peninsula Centinela, with their gentle slopes and the rumour of their waters, are waiting for you to practice all the nautic sports you wish, or simply go for picnics and use their camping sites.
