Pico Truncado Tourist Information

Pico Truncado is one of the places in Argentina where the oldest testimonies of human presence in America are conserved. Route Nº 3 on the north of the city is the access road to the province of Santa Cruz in Patagonia. Only 12 km. from Caleta Olivia and 180 km. from Puerto Deseado, it is immersed in a typical Patagonian steppe environment. The deposits in Piedra Museo and Los Toldos, 250 and 140 km. respectively from Pico Truncado, show evidence of this, and will make you imagine through experience the changes operated in animals, plants and inhabitants along different eras.
