
Paget tourist information
In Paget Parish you'll find several historic properties that provide wonderful insight into Bermuda's past. Waterville, a lovely and traditional 18th-century island home, is today the headquarters of The Bermuda National Trust, a nonprofit organization for the preservation of historic buildings and wildlife refuges throughout Bermuda. The house's drawing and dining rooms are furnished with museum-quality antique furniture, china and artworks. The grounds, meanwhile, include a Victorian rose garden with arbors and benches. Waterville is open Monday through Friday.
In Paget Marsh, located in the center of the parish, a boardwalk with informative signs detailing native floraleads through a landscape that remains much the way Bermuda's settlers found it. Many of the same species are also found at the Botanical Gardens. The Garden for the Sightless here features a collection of plants that appeal for their special scents. You can join a free tour of the Botanical Gardens at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays, weather permitting. Located on the property is also the elegant Camden House, the official residence of Bermuda's premier. Used only for dinners and receptions, its rooms boast beautiful antique furniture, much of which has been handcrafted of Bermuda cedar, plus fine china, crystal and artworks. Camden is open to the public on Tuesdays and Fridays from noon to 2 p.m., unless official functions are scheduled; admittance is free.
