Orgères-en-Beauce is the home of La Maison de la Beauce, a visitor centre in a restored old farmhouse typical of the region. The centre offers a dynamic presentation of La Beauce through a number of collections, images and audiovisual presentations, providing a varied and original view of the region. The traditional artefacts on show provide a link with the past, and interactive games inform visitors about modern farming methods and the environment (flora, fauna, the Conie valley, etc.). The collection of wheat sheaves belonging to André Pichot, the famous geneticist who created « Fidel » wheat, shows how wheat has changed over the centuries. The wind, which is a dominant force in La Beauce, is presented in a working model of Levesville la Chenard windmill.
