Necochea Tourist Information

Nn the verge of the great Atlantic Ocean, Necochea City is a place with many alternatives. Sand, sun and sea come together with the majestic greenwood of Miguel Lillo Park and the choppy waters of Quequén Salado. It is located in the southeast of Buenos Aires Province, on the left verge of Quequén Grande River. It borders on San Cayetano District to the west, on Benito Juarez District to the north and to the east , on Tandil and Lobería Districts. The city is very well connected to the rest of the country through Nº 2 and 3 National Routes and Nº 29,86,88,226 and 228 Provincial Routes. The climate is humid template with maximum temperatures of 33º C and minimum temperatures of 14ª C in Summer. The land ranges from clearly sandy to clayey, being rich in calcium. Notwithstanding the fact that the city is in a plain, along the sea coast there is a wide dune strip that is ideal to go on four trax excursions. The main attraction is the beach that is famous because of its slight slope with iodine sand. In this unique and indescribable natural environment you can enjoy an unsurpassable stay in a peaceful and secure atmosphere for the whole family. Among the most outstanding beaches, you can find " Costa Bonita" , " Bahía de los Vientos", " Las Grutas", " Quequén Beaches" and " Downtown Beaches". Necochea port, where there is an intense commercial activity , is one of the few in the country where ships being 200 meters long or longer can come in with the help of tugboats in 30 minutes. Another attraction in the city is Miguel Lillo Park which has thick exotic woods that provide you with the chance of observing flora and fauna or enjoying hicking or cycling in contact with nature. There is also an amphitheatre in the open air, a square and two museums inside the park and the entrance is free. You will find yourself in the ideal place to practise water sports such as windsurfing, surfing, jet skiing, sailing, diving, rowing and swimming. Apart from that you can visit the Historical Regional Museum and Dr. Squadrone Museum. At night, fans of games of chance can try their luck in the Casino Touristic Resort that has huge game rooms.
