Moravska Trebova Tourist Information
Moravska Trebova was founded as a typical colonization town on a chessboard plan in the 13th century. Especially the Renaissance and baroque constructions highlight among a number of architectural sights. The preserved castle gateway, which dates from 1492, is one of the oldest Renaissance monuments in the Czech Republic. A chateau with mannerism arcades was built in the late Renaissance period. On the other hand, the Kalvarie sculptural group, which is located nearby in Krizovy vrch, and the pestilential column, which is situated on the square, are examples of the baroque style. The town offers a lot of cultural events such as the "Chateau gimmicks and amusement" (which includes knights jousts and fireworks), the festival of the "Slovak Culture Days" and an exhibition of the unique oriental art collections including an Egyptian mummy.
