Majunga Tourist Information
A large cosmopolitan city on the Mozambique Channel, Majunga on the northwest coast of Madagascar enjoys a hot dry climate year round. It is the gateway to the Ankarafansika Reserve which includes Ampijoroa Forestry Station, one of the last remnants of the dry deciduous forest which once upon a time covered the entire west. It is a prosperous town and a busy harbor with a large Indian population and interesting mix of African, Europeans, Arabs and local Sakalava.
