Lasalle Ontario Tourist Information

The fastest growing community in Essex County is a lovely town situated along the banks of the Detroit River. So many marinas dot the coast that the main street is referred to as the "Nautical Mile". LaSalle enjoys quite a notorious past.

Fugitive slaves are rumoured to have arrived here after a perilous swim to Freedom. Rumrunners used the river as a highway to transport their illegal cargo.

A former speakeasy is still one of the town's favourite restaurants. In the present day, LaSalle offers close proximity to area attractions, great shopping, numerous opportunities to purchase fresh produce, and an annual Strawberry Festival and Street Rods Car Show!
