Hyvinkaa tourist information
Hyvinkää is conveniently located about 50 km from Finland's capital Helsinki and has an optimum population of 42000. Hyvinkää's residents benefit from wide open spaces and enjoy a safe environment in rolling terrain close to nature. The city is 40 minutes by train or 50 minutes by road from Helsinki city centre and is served by a small airfield. Due to the city's excellent location and motor way links, many major companies have moved to Hyvinkää.
An exceptional range of leisure and recreation facilities extends along the city's northern greenbelt recreation area. There are many opportunities for sport:
You can choose from a selection of more than 90 sports and activities. Hyvinkää also offers specialist activities such as polo, curling and archery. Sveitsi's multi-activity park, Kytäjä's unique "Southern desert", ski slopes and a motorsport centre complete the selection.
The roots of Hyvinkää's industry go back to the last century. The old wool factory in the city centre is an historical landmark. It's redevelopment will be a great challenge and opportunity in the coming years.
