Hjortoe Tourist Information

Hjortø is one of the smallest and most untouched islands in the South Funen archipelago with only 15 inhabitants. The island is reached by the little ferry. Hjortø is carless and has no grocer, pub or church. On the other hand here reigns peace and quiet and a very rich fauna and flora and several child-friendly beaches are typical features. The flora on Hjortø includes the many-flowered buttercup, and among the animals the rare fire-bellied frog that has survived in the South Funen archipelago thanks to the many small ponds and the mild climate. In the little village with its old half-timbered farms you are often welcome to camp. The harbour moors 25 boats plus the ferry from Svendborg
