Ellice Manitoba Tourist Information
The Rural Municipality of Ellice is situated in the fertile prairies of western Manitoba to the northwest of Brandon, the second largest city in Manitoba. Once there, one returns easily by travelling on Provincial roads 41(towards the north) and 42 (towards the west). With the Assiniboine River crossing through the municipality, the largest centre is the town of St. Lazare.
The water and shores of the Assiniboine River are popular spots in the Rural Municipality of Ellice. The river provides excellent boating and fishing activities, while the more than 80 kilometres of paths provide walkers, hikers and cyclists a great opportunity to admire the beauty of the region and stay in shape! In the winter, there are more than 160 kilometres of ski trails for those interested in cross-country skiing. Also, the historic Fort Ellice is another place of interest to visit that is close to the town of St. Lazare.
