Elkhorn Manitoba Tourist Information
The Village of Elkhorn lies just east of the Saskatchewan-Manitoba border along the Trans Canada Highway. The community serves as a local service centre for the surrounding agricultural area, and is the last major community westbound on the Trans Canada Highway before Saskatchewan. The community has a strong recreational spirit that boasts ice skating, curling rinks, many baseball diamonds, and a nine-hole golf course. Elkhorn is also well represented by a strong minor sports program.
The jewel in the Village of Elkhorn is the Manitoba Antique Automobile Museum. Founded in 1965, the museum is currently home to an extensive collection of automobiles, agricultural machinery, Native artifacts and pioneer displays. The museum is one of the finest in Canada, with the collection of automobiles rivaling those of much larger centres. The museum attracts visitors from around the world.
Elkhorn is also host to a number of sporting and recreational events throughout the year, including hockey and golf tournaments, Pioneer Day celebrations, and an agricultural fair.
