Duga Resa Tourist Information

The attractive location of this town on the Mreznica river, and on the main Croatian traffic route Zagreb - Rijeka provides favourable conditions for the development of tourism. Among the tourist attractions in the town it is important to mention the church of St. Peter with the nearby archaeological sites from the Roman period, the partially preserved 19th-century workers' housing block Kasar next to the cotton factory, nice water-mills and the old hydro-electric power plant on the Mreznica.

Most of the sports and recreational opportunities are related to the Mreznica river - bathing, rowing, kayaking/canoeing, etc. Popular are also cycling, walking, hiking and especially angling and hunting in the surrounding area.

DUGA RESA, a town on the Mreznica river, 11 km southwest of Karlovac; elevation 134 m; population 7,513. Economy is based on farming, textile and furniture industries. Duga Resa lies on the main road (M12.3), and the railroad Zagreb - Karlovac - Rijeka.
