Dubasnica Tourist Information
DUBASNICA, an area in the north-western part of the island of Krk, which comprises about 20 villages and towns. The limestone bedrock is covered by red soil and low forest vegetation. It rises from the cliffy and indented coast to the height of over 200 m. The coves of Malinska and Cavlena are on the coast. Climate is mild and favourable for farming, vegetable growing and viniculture. The area got its name after extensive oak forests (dub). Major settlements included: the former village of Dubasnica and south of it Poljica, as well as the hamlets of Nenadic, Brusic, Zgaljic, Linardic and Milohnic.
