Donja Stubica Tourist Information

The picturesque small town in Hrvatsko Zagorje is the centre of the Stubica region, famous for a number of tourist attractions. Donja Stubica organizes several cultural events throughout the year: the Croatian Book Month (in October), music concerts, art exhibitions, etc. There are many cultural institutions that are active here. The classicist castle Stubicki Golubovec is used as a temporary archive of the National and University Library and is also the seat of Kajkavijana - the society for preservation and promotion of the Croatian kajkavian dialect heritage. This society hosts a number of promotions, concerts and exhibitions throughout the year. The landscaped park around the castle is protected as a horticultural monument but is also used as a public park.

DONJA STUBICA, a town in the region of Hrvatsko Zagorje, 6 km southeast of Zabok; elevation 192 m; population 2,232. It was first mentioned in 1209. Economy is based on farming, metal-processing, wood and timber, and food industries, as well as tourism. Located on the regional road.
