Deigne Tourist Information
Deigne Belgium
Nestled in a verdant valley wedged between two crests, this village is huddled around its church and its town square in perfect harmony with the differences in level inspired by the relief. Surrounded by fields, delimited by hedges and, by forests planted along the crests punctuated by the famous « bornes de Stavelot » (boundary stones erected circa. 1837 to mark the boundary between Belgium and Prussia).
The streets are rhythmed by the diversity of the buildings and the rooftops and by the sinuous roads that pass through the village. Most of the houses have been restored and are the showcases of the villagers’ determination to develop the heritage and rural character of the villages. The heart of the village is composed of stone farmhouses, generally semi-detached, and dating for the most part from the XVIIIth century.
