Chora Amorgou Tourist Information

Amorgos's medieval capital is built in the middle of the island around the Venetian Castle. The first signs of occupation shown here are from the early Byzantinr times. Churches are built in tens with unique Byzantine relics. Of particular interest are Agioi Pantes, Vlissani, St.Nicholas, the Cathedral, Agioi Apostoli, Zoodochos Pigi and especially Metochi of Protodoti Christos, a monument of the early Christian years. Narrow alleys and small paved squares attract and win the visitor;s attention. A visit to the island's archelogical museum is definatly worth while. Chora surpises you with Agia Anna's and Kambi's rocky and pebbly beaches. Sun and rocks, blue clear waters and the wild beauty anchant visitors........
