Brod Moravice Tourist Information

The surrounding areas abound in beautiful natu-ral landscapes. Orlove Stijene (Eagle's Rocks) offer a splendid view on the Kupa river valley, while the vista points on Medveja Stijena (Bear's Rock) and Spicasti Vrh (Pointed Peak) offer a view on the region of Gorski Kotar and the neighbouring Slovenia. Nature-lovers will especially enjoy rare mountain plants - red lily, narcissus, holly. A guided hunt on big game is offered with the possibility of lodging in the Lazica hunting lodge.

Many households offer home-made food, especially milk and cheese, as well as the famous medicinal juniper brandy called "brinjevica".

BROD MORAVICE, a village in the northern part of Gorski Kotar; elevation 604 m; population 443. Until 1670 the place was called Gornje Moravice and its name was changed when it came under the administration of Brod Dominion. Favourable climatic conditions make Brod Moravice a well-known climatic resort. Brod Moravice is located on the railroad Zagreb - Rijeka and on the regional road Donja Dobra - Brod na Kupi.
