Bregana Tourist Information

Bregana is a small excursion resort in the immediate vicinity of the Croatian-Slovenian border. Such a position means huge transit traffic of passengers. The picturesque landscape attracts many excursionists and tourists, especially from Zagreb and its surroundings. Major attractions include fishponds (trout farm), the bio-park Divlje Vode (Wild Waters) - Gabrovica with a small zoo, the eco- village Zumberak in the village of Kravljak, 10-odd km from Bregana, with well preserved profane architecture. Visitor opportunities include horseback riding and walking through peaceful and quiet landscapes.

Major sports and recreational opportunities are walking and hiking tours in the surrounding hills, relaxation in intact nature, hunting and angling.

BREGANA, a small town 5 km northwest of Samobor; elevation 110 m; population 2,344. Economy is based on farming, furniture production and trout rearing. Bregana is located on the regional road, which branches off the main road (M1, E70). State border crossing.
