Bow Island Alberta Tourist Information
Known as The Bean Capital of the West, Bow Island is home to Pinto MacBean, town mascot. Bow Island is also known for "Old Glory", the first commercial gas field in Alberta. Bow Island was also the first town in Alberta to have natural gas lighting and heating. Close by is Forty-Mile Reservoir and Park where a man-made lake that is 10 km. (6 mi.) long and the largest pump station in Canada may be seen.
