Bellingen Tourist Information

Bellingen is a country town on the Bellinger River banks. The area is lively and has an artistic flair, with plenty of craft fairs and markets. it is definitely a unique place to stay. The valley in which it is situated is extremely beautiful. If you travel 10 kilometres north of Bellingen you will reach the Promised Land where you can swim in the pretty swimming holes along the Never Never River. There is also plenty of wildlife around the area. Platypuses are common in the river and at dusk you are likely to see flying foxes in the rainforest on Bellingen Island. If you don’t have your own transport the easiest way to get to Bellingen is by bus. Buses run from Coffs Harbour as well as Nambucca Heads a few times a day.
