Beli Tourist Information

BELI, a village on the north-eastern side of the island of Cres, located on an isolated wooded hill, elevation 130 m; population 38. It is one of the oldest settlements on the island of Cres; its ancient name is Caput insulae. On the coast is Lucica Beli (Beli Harbour) with Podbeli Pier and a pebble beach. Chief occupations are farming and livestock breeding.

A special atmosphere of this picturesque village, located on a cliff, is given by the agora - a paved space on a little plateau - where folk meetings were held and important decisions made (such as that of the annexation to Venice). Beli boarding house with a restaurant, offering a variety of home dishes, is located next to the campsite. Below the village, the bay with a pebble beach provides peace and rest. An educational, 12-km long eco-trail (3-4 hrs walk) was set in Beli, marking the most valuable natural and cultural qualities.
