Bedourie Tourist Information
Bedourie is a corruption of the Aboriginal word meaning "dust storm", was established in 1880. It is a centre for the vast properties that surround the town and is the Administrative Centre and Shire Chambers of the Diamantine Shire, the second largest shire in Queensland, after Cook Shire and has the smallest population. Bedourie is 221 kilometres south of Boulia.
