Bad Sulza Tourist Information

Bad Sulza is situated in the Ilm Valley, 4km before its joining into the river Saale. The surrounding slopes are the foothills of the Finne range and of the Muschelkalk hills of the Ilm-Saale plateau. Bad Sulza is situated in the Nature Reserve “Untere Ilmaue”. The climate is mild, in a sheltered position, allowing vine cultivation on the sunny south slopes. The Wine-Trail “Saale-Unstrut” was extended from Saxony-Anhalt into Thuringia to Bad Sulza in 1994, and gained a further attraction by the opening of the Thuringian Wine Gate.
