Apfelstaedt Tourist Information

Apfelstädt is situated at the southern side of the Thuringian Basin, in the triangle of the towns Erfurt, Gotha und Arnstadt. The village is located in the valley of the river with the same name, which is at the same time the northern boundary of the village. Apfelstädt is a typical street-development village. It is also situated immediately beside the three castles "Drei Gleichen", in a picturesque and idyllic location. Impressive views open to the three castles, which in the background the slopes of the Thuringian Forest rise gently to the south and west. Its favourable central location in Thuringia renders it easy to approach, it is connected by rail and road, and also directly to the two motorways BAB A4 and A71.
