Althofen Tourist Information
On the northern edge of the Krappfeld lies the municipality of Althofen. The village is known especially for its Health center, which lies on an elevation and provides a wonderful view over the Krappfeld.
The location of Althofen itself is unique not only in Carinthia. Built-up on a hill, the historical village center thrones over the surrounding areas and offers a beautiful view from afar. Additional sights are the parish church St. Thomas von Canterbury from the beginning of the 15th century, the Pestsaeule (pillar of Black Death) as well as the Gnomenbrunnen (fountain). Also the offer away from historical and architectural attraction points is worthwhile: the main attraction is surely an experience pool with an almost 60 m long water slide, an experience spa, a wade pool and a broad meadow for relaxing. The environment is ideal for hiking, walking, biking and horseback riding. Tennis courts, a minigolf course and much more make sure that boredom never sets in.
