Aalen tourist information
Aalen's origins date all the way back to Roman times. In 150 AD the biggest Roman fort north of the Alps was built here. Today the Limes Museum stands on the site of the original fort. Both the museum and the “Limes Thermae” thermal baths contribute to the charming Roman character of the town. Aalen is surrounded by the beautiful Alb countryside of the Swabian Mountains, with many cultural attractions and leisure opportunities.
