Umeåregionen, i.e. the town of Umeå and its surrounding municipalities, is a natural magnet in Västerbotten. Umeå is the largest town in the north of Sweden with shopping, entertainments and unspoilt countryside within easy reach. The conference facilities and hotels are of a high standard and provide attentive service in pleasant surroundings. The other towns in the region make up for the things the city lacks, such as the rushing waters of an unexploited national river, an elk farm, a motor museum and a number of fine golf courses.
