Madrid as most big cities is noisy everywhere but regardless of that, everybody likes to stay downtown, to be walking distance from all the restaurants, shops, theatres, museums, etc., since there is so much to see and to do in Madrid. The Gran Hotel Conde Duque is in front of a large square full of trees and surrounded by apartment buildings, off the main avenue Alberto Aguilera. Surprisingly, because of this location, when you are in any of the luxurious rooms of the hotel, even with your windows open at night, you do not hear any noise. Sincerely, any other hotel in downtown Madrid about which this can be said, and it is something very important, because with Madrid’s crazy ever changing weather you never know when you may want to leave your windows open because the central air conditioning is not operating due to not being summer yet, they tell you... The Hotel Conde Duque is also one of the hotels with more up to date equipment, for instance if some one calls you and you are not in, there will be a message on your TV, which will be on when you come back, although you are sure you turned it off before leaving
