As a native of Ayr I had to point out the facts that your "review" missed. Such as the variety of resturants and great pub food available, the parks like Rozelle (which also has an Art Gallery)The River Ayr Walk,and the fact that there is a large play park on the beach front. Bleak it may seem to some, but the locals prefer The Low Green the way it is, with room for kids to play without neon signs and electronic bleeps everywhere.Unlike the Blackpools of this country there is still real history here for those who want to discover it.
