Aberdeen destination reviews

If you are planing to visit Aberdeen, you defnetly choiced a top Destination in Scotland.
Aberdeen is a city of many names. It's easy to see how it gets its most popular one. The Granite City. Aberdeen's architecture is hewn from granite - one of the hardest and most enduring of stones - but also a stone which shines and shimmers in the sunshine, and after the rain.
The glory of granite is all around you in the city centre and old town of Aberdeen. The impressive turreted Town House in Union Street, the castellated Citadel at the Castlegate and the whimsically fanciful Marischal College - the world's second larget granite structure - are all must sees.
Just if you're walking along Union Street, remember to look up to the intricate decoration which pays testament to the stone mason's trade. Being such a hard stone to work, granite lends itsdelf to plain unadorned features. The more affluent Victorians though, liked to show off their wealth by having it carved into fine detail. The more money you had, the more twiddly bits you had on your building. Follow Queen Victoria's gaze from her vantage point at Queen's Cross roundabout and see nineteenth century 'keeping up with the Joneses' in action.
Besides its granite Building Aberdeen realy has so much to offer.
Aberdeen hast the best nightlife of Scotland. You'll find all type of Restaurants in the city centre and old town. As well Bars and Pubs. There are also several good discotheques.
The beaches around Aberdeen could compite with the beaches you might know from the Canarian Islands. They are long and golden sanded. The beachfront areas are defnetly a family paradise.
There are plenty of castles near Aberdeen. As well you can visit most known Single Malt Whisky distilleries within 100 miles around Aberdeen. Chivas, Glenfiddich and others great from close by.
I highly recommend you a day trip to Loch Ness and the city of Inverness. This is a absolut must when travelling to Scotland.
