Welcome to the Cliff Bay Resort Hotel in Funchal - Situated overlooking the crescent of Funchal bay the hotel enjoys a prime location, complemented by the superb quality of the installations. All this, together with the extensive facilities offered by the hotel, gives all guests the opportunity to choose between moments of tranquillity or various different entertainment options. Located just 2kms to the west of Funchal, capital of Madeira, The Cliff Bay is perched on a cliff above the bay of Funchal. Spectacular views and stunning sunsets compliment the tranquil sub-tropical gardens located well away from the main road. The resort is only a 15-20 minute stroll from the city centre.
“The Cliff Bay” has 201 guest rooms with 24hr room service, satellite and cable television, personal safe, in-house movies, twin beds and large private balconies. All rooms have marble bathrooms with a separate shower unit and bath and individually controlled air conditioning and heating. Of the 201 guest rooms 189 enjoy a sea view.
Guests can taste delicious cuisine or have refreshing drinks at the hotels restaurants and bars. The Rose Garden - the main restaurant - serves a breakfast buffet and theme buffet dinners, as well as a set-menu and an a-la-carte menu. Il Gallo Doro is a formal restaurant featuring the finest northern Italian cuisine (jacket or tie is required). The Blue Lagoon is located at sea level near the sea water swimming pool and sun terraces and serves lunch only. Le Cliff Bar has a lounge and terrace where you can enjoy your drinks and cocktails and has live entertainment every evening. Le Bistro offers afternoon tea and light snacks daily and the Cactus Bar - just by the indoor/outdoor pool has a selection of snacks and juices. Valentinos is a cosy bar for your aperitifs and cocktails.
The Cliff Bay offers all the facilities you need to relax and regenerate. You may spend your time within the hotel which offers a large variety of activities and services for a tranquil and enjoyable holiday. For the more adventurous guest there is a vast range of outdoor pursuits available.
