Larvik tourist information

The Larvik district is widely known as a summer Eldorado, with bountiful beaches where you may enjoy life and recharge your batteries. The coastline totals 123km and consists of skerries and sandy beaches between small idyllic hamlets. On the coast lies the little town of Stavern and the small boat harbors of Kjerringvik, Ula, Nevlunghavn and Helgeroa, each whit it's own special charm. For those who come by sea there are five guest harbors to choose between.

In our "green valley" lie Lardal and Lågendalen. There is great hunting terrain and the area is fantastic for fishermen. At Kjærra Fossepark at Numedalslågen, there is a living salmon fishing museum and an arena for open air concerts in the summer.

In Tjølling is archaeologists working to excavate the remains of the Viking town of Kaupang. Whilst Trondheim and Oslo in later years have celebrated 1000 year jubilees, it has been more than 1300 years since Kaupang was settled.
