Loosdrecht, a water sports fan’s paradise, offers many possibilities for a wonderful day out or a fabulous holiday. Five interconnected lakes offer a stunning 3,600 hectares of major aquatic delight. The water is clean enough for fishing, swimming and exceptional flora and fauna. The dikes around the lakes are scattered with authentic farm houses, elegant country manors, marinas,
bungalow parks, cafes and restaurants, and even the odd castle or two. If you are in search of peace, you won’t be disappointed: visit the Vuntus Lake area, where motor vessels are limited by law. Discover special plants and unique flocks of birds by rowing boat or canoe – or board a mini-cruise. Had enough of the water? No problem.
Loosdrecht has loads to offer for non-sailors, although Holland’s Water Garden is its nickname. Go shopping, play tennis or crazy golf or admire works of art.
