Leiden tourist information
When walking through Leiden its rich history still seems very much alive. Leiden’s atmosphere is largely determined by its university and this is the city where Rembrandt was born, doctor Boerhaave taught and Clusius brought the first Dutch tulips into flower.
If walls could talk, they would tell us a lot. About conspiracies and conquests, about trade and art, about prosperity and adversity. By a combination of modern technology and creativity The Secrets of Holland makes this possible. In conjunction with the city of Leiden and Leiden Promotie VVV (Leiden Tourist Board) The Secrets of Holland present Talking Walls. By this innovative city-walk with portable audio-player it will be possible, for the first time in history, for monumental buildings to tell about their past, their secrets and their emotions. Each building is different and has its own story and character. Talking Walls is an unique way to experience the history of the city of Leiden.
