Daugavpils tourist information
Latvia's second largest city also has the largest population of Russian speakers in the country. Located on the far edges of Latvia's frontier, the city's architecture is more reminiscent of Vilnius than Riga, only not as well preserved. Although most of Daugavpils' inhabitants don't speak Latvian, all of the signs on shop fronts and elsewhere are written in Latvian, which at times seems bizarre.
