Locanda Remedio Hotel description
An ancient palace situated in a typical Venetian courtyard, in the very heart of town, 100 mt. from St. Mark square. Old style furnished rooms with private bath and all conforts, large hall for breakfast-room and bar. Guests enjoy the cordial atmosphere and the chance to revisit historical paths of this wonderful town.
When a yong Venetian nobleman came of age he was obligated by tradition to get to Doge's Palace and there, surrounded by his relatives and friends, to present himself to all the Venetian Nobility. When the solemn cerimony was over, to celebrate his firts steps in the political life of the town, he and his most intimate friends would come to the Bottega del Remedio, an ancient meeting place and inn, situated in the street of that name, Calle del Remedio, to taste the bussolai (ring-shaped cakes) and "Malvasia", a Middle East wine said to have healing virtues and for this called Remedy. We are glad to continue this tradition and right in the spot where it was originally celebrated.
Rooms vary in size and are elegantly furnished in venetian style and equipped with all comforts. The standard of the rooms is of high class with much attention paid to even the smallest detail. The marble bathrooms are in excellent condition with jacuzzi tub or hydro-massage shower.
