Loved Siena! We were there for the July '04 Palio!.Recommend the experience highly! But not the hotel, the Villa Piccolo Siena, where we stayed or the Palio tickets we bought through them & the Cor Magis Travel Agency. We had to stand in the July heat & sun for 4 hours before the race. Standing wasn't the problem, but there was no room to even turn. The drinks that were to be furnished ran out well before the race. Those in charge did not replenish them even when told. We were told only after getting onto the balcony that if we left for any reason one hour before the race we would lose out spot. The owner of the property and 3 friends pushed their way onto the balcony, which prevented some of the paying guests from seeing the race. The snacks put out during the day were offered as breakfast the next morning. Find another business from which to get Palio tickets.
