Situated in the “pearl” of the Amalfi Coast on the Positano hillside and built into the characteristic rock overlooking the sea, this friendly and welcoming hotel offers one of the most suggestive views in the world. Ideal for couples, Il Gabbiano was renovated in 2003 and has maintained its structure based on simplicity and elegance. In particular, the hotel is characterised by its luminosity, which can be seen in the reception area, bar and breakfast hall with wonderful panoramic views over the coastline and hills of Positano.

All of the 19 rooms are contemporarily furnished with a private bathroom, direct-dial telephone, colour TV and private balcony or terrace with spectacular views of the coast. A few rooms have air conditioning (available only on request). The main features of the rooms are their arches, terraces overlooking the sea and bathed in sunlight all day long and floors made with typical blue ceramic tiles, which merge with the colour of the sea creating a sensational and enchanting spectacle out to the horizon.

Continental breakfast is served every day from 07:30am to 10:00am. The hotel has a bar, but not an a la carte restaurant.

The friendly reception staff are available 24 hours a day to help you in English. The hotel has a lift. Several restaurants and stores exist in the vicinity. Safety deposit boxes available at reception for storage of your valuables. The following services are also available with an additional charge payable locally: use of the private parking area (requiring previous request), laundry service (external service), baby sitting (external service), taxi service to any destination, transfers from and to the airport or the train station and car/scooter rental.

The hotel is ideally located to visit the following interesting places: Amalfi, Ravello, Capri and Pompeii. The centre of Positano and the beach are only 10 minutes walk from the hotel. The port for boats to visit Capri, Ischia and Amalfi is also only 10 minutes walk from the hotel, 500 metres away. The bus stop to Amalfi and Sorrento is 5 minutes on foot, 50 metres from the hotel. The nearest railway station is in Sorrento, 17 km away and the nearest airport, Capodichino (Naples) is 60 km away.
