Petrosino (Zip Code 91020) is 143 km. far from Agrigento, 215 km. from Caltanissetta, 342 km. from Catania, 250 km. from Enna, 383 km. from Messina, 124 km. from Palermo, 279 km. from Ragusa, 360 km. from Siracusa, 43 km. from Trapani which province it belongs to.
The municipality has 7.539 inhabitants and its area is 4.454 hectares for a density of population of 169 inhabitants per square kilometre.
It rises in a flat area and is 10 metres above sea-level.
It is possible to find among its agricultural products green house vegetables, table and wine grapes.
The name of the centre derives from Sicilian Pitrusinu (parsley), in its turn derives from Greek and from Latin Petroselinum and has the same meaning.
It is a small coast line centre and has been recently built on territories which belonged to Marsala and Mazara del Vallo.
In 1632 the village was assuming the present configuration; the settling down was perfected thanks to the English John Woodhouse who made to build a rural farm whose doorway later became the blazon of the town.
In the field of Art we find the Sibiliana Tower of XIV century, the Montenero Tower of the XVII century, the Woodhouse rural farm, the Spanò of the XIX century and the Basile rural farm.
